Family Night....we can all learn something

Farrari set out to do our Family Home Evening lesson one Monday in June. She told the story of the wise man and the foolish man who built their houses on the rock and on the sand and how when the rains came the house on the sand washed away and the one on the rock stood still... she used rock and sand and made houses... it was a great lesson and the kids loved it...Good to remember that the rock is our Savior and if we put our trust and faith in Him He will be there for us and protect us when the storms come, when trials will try to bring us down.....when life seems hard....He is there for us and always has been!

Yard Sales.....it's not about the money $$$$

I love yard sales....I have found some really fun treasures throughout the years! But doing one of your own is a lot of work but as I was pondering on this I decided you end up doing things at a yard sale you don't always get to do....such as....having a good friend come and sit and visit with you....playing Chinese jump rope.....the older kids showing the younger ones what it's all about!! when was the last time we played that?
The best part is we always buy at least 2 boxes of donuts.....I mean 2 dozen...cos we are up early putting things out so we treat ourselves with donuts for breakfast! that alone is worth the trouble! You never know who you will have com and visit your yard sale either...some times you get some really fun people....and then there are moments you don't plan on such as grandpa sitting on the ground while Ian watches him do something.....and the little ones scattering all the toys all over and then you end up just giving the toys away to the kids that come....So even though we don't end up making very much we do end up having a good time together and doing some fun, crazy things you don't normally do... and it's a day spent outside getting some sun and ignoring the house work....it's nice to know that it will be there when you are done having fun!!!
I thought I was going to try and have a yard sale at the end of summer but I hurt my knee really bad so I guess no more fun in the sun......what about a yard sale in the snow....just think of the things we could do outside in the winter.....you know I think people would come cos there are a lot of yard sale aholics out there, I know I would stop if there was one!!! :)
