Family Night....we can all learn something

Farrari set out to do our Family Home Evening lesson one Monday in June. She told the story of the wise man and the foolish man who built their houses on the rock and on the sand and how when the rains came the house on the sand washed away and the one on the rock stood still... she used rock and sand and made houses... it was a great lesson and the kids loved it...Good to remember that the rock is our Savior and if we put our trust and faith in Him He will be there for us and protect us when the storms come, when trials will try to bring us down.....when life seems hard....He is there for us and always has been!

Yard Sales.....it's not about the money $$$$

I love yard sales....I have found some really fun treasures throughout the years! But doing one of your own is a lot of work but as I was pondering on this I decided you end up doing things at a yard sale you don't always get to do....such as....having a good friend come and sit and visit with you....playing Chinese jump rope.....the older kids showing the younger ones what it's all about!! when was the last time we played that?
The best part is we always buy at least 2 boxes of donuts.....I mean 2 dozen...cos we are up early putting things out so we treat ourselves with donuts for breakfast! that alone is worth the trouble! You never know who you will have com and visit your yard sale either...some times you get some really fun people....and then there are moments you don't plan on such as grandpa sitting on the ground while Ian watches him do something.....and the little ones scattering all the toys all over and then you end up just giving the toys away to the kids that come....So even though we don't end up making very much we do end up having a good time together and doing some fun, crazy things you don't normally do... and it's a day spent outside getting some sun and ignoring the house work....it's nice to know that it will be there when you are done having fun!!!
I thought I was going to try and have a yard sale at the end of summer but I hurt my knee really bad so I guess no more fun in the sun......what about a yard sale in the snow....just think of the things we could do outside in the winter.....you know I think people would come cos there are a lot of yard sale aholics out there, I know I would stop if there was one!!! :)

Turtles live on!!

Turtles in a half shell....turtle power!! Well, Dougie has never outgrown his love for Ninja Turtles so we had a theme for his 25th b'day.....Turtle Power! It was fun, I think he liked it too. The kids loved the remote control turtle on a 4 wheeler....

Ben turns 16!

Wow where did the time go, my baby is 16~ he's getting old! Ben had a great b'day he got a new cymbal for his drum set, a cool t-shirt and a belt buckle that looks like a video game control....the cake was good too! The kids love the b'days! we are party animals!

Nutelleria...

What is a Nutelleria? I think it's heaven....if you can go into a place and have them serve up stuff with Nutella on it then it's gotta be HEAVEN! I don't know what they have in there but someday I hope to find out! My nephew Ireneo posted this from Italy...I need to ask him what they serve! I think it's worth a trip to find out!!! Yes Nutella had to be in the pre- existence! It's such a good thing! I live my life with this motto....start the day with Nutella and no matter what happens you can always say something good happened that day!!! ok I don't really but hay it sounds good......that's all....

Well our May birthdays are getting to be more and more so here goes. The pictures above are of Solae's b'day....then we have Ivie below this script. They both wanted Cassata for their b'day cake so I made them and Dougie did the honors of putting candles on the cakes! It's becoming a favorite...I think the kids just want an excuse to have CASSATA!
I added the apron and towels I sent to my sister Anna Maria for her 60th b'day this year 2011... I also sent her a Fanucci brother....
We then go to Daisy's 1st b'day! she loved the cake best of all!!! it loved her back.
Eliot had a special b'day too...we all met at the park in Heber had cake and ice cream the kids played at the play ground for awhile, and then all the kids and parents rode Thomas the train...yes they loved it! Maile made her a special Thomas the train cake, it was pretty awesome!
Doug, Farrari, Ari and I went to a diner in Heber and it wasn't that good!! I don't recommend it!! It's the one by the gas station next to Arbys! Well, what a disappointment! oh well, we went to some of the shops on main street too. Next time we need to go down farther and look at the shops there. We then headed home.....
Sundrina decided for her 30th b'day that she wanted a mad hatter party so we all donned our hats and had a dance and party! I feel bad cos I can't find the rest of the pictures with people in their hats! oh well it was a lot of fun. Her friend painted a hat and happy b'day on her front windows too. pretty good artist!!
That's our birthday fun for May don't worry we will have more!
