Thanksgiving

I can't believe how quickly we went from Sept and school starting to Thanksgiving! Everyone was here for that great day but Ari who is on a mission in Texas. After dinner I had everyone write Ari a little note on some cute paper decorations that Ivie made for me! I saw this idea where you make a paper Christmas tree out of butcher paper, green of course, and cut it out like a tree...well, thanks to Ivie this came together without pain or cussing....she did a fabulous job cutting it out and making the ornaments...so as I said we sat around and filled them out and I sent them to Ari, she has received them and was so excited that we all came together and did that for her so a big thanks to everyone who was patient with me and did this (cos it meant a lot to me and you all come through when things mean a lot to me) and for letting me take pictures of y'all as Ari would say. It will be interesting to hear her new Texas accent! Also one of the big things that happened this month was that Doug and Ammon got Solae's car finished!!!! Can you hear the cheering going on??? Well, this car has been in the drive way for 2 years!! The parts we needed for it took that long to get a hold of. Ammon and Doug spent alllllll summer working on it and now it runs like a charm!! This is their picture in the car, they call it the Flintstone mobile! Solae' is so excited to have her little baby back, it's a cute little car, an Areo......congratulations Solae'.....a ring a car and a wedding coming up in March....
Kevin won the Achmed award...he did a great drawing on his ornament! I put bows on everyones pictures that I sent to Ari along with the ornaments....

October ...great news!

Well I'm just going to do a quick catch up! Where has time gone? I don't know but I lost 2 months!
Kevin and I had a nice b'day! We spent a weekend in Salt Lake and stayed with Solae' and Farrari. It was a lot of fun. I ended my Sept blogging before Solae' and Eric got engaged on the 19th (which happens to be my sister Marias b'day) He popped the question while at temple square. We knew it was going to happen and we are very excited for them. Eric is a great guy and is a great addition to our ever extending family! Welcome to the nut house Eric...hold on....life with the Phillips' will be fun :)

I had to post this one too cos it's just a different version.

GUARDA CHE LUNA

GUARDA CHE LUNA

Guard Che Luna

I love this song off the movie Letters to Juliet (love the movie too)

here is the translation to the song...

Look at that moon look at that sea

From tonight I have to live without you

Im madly in love and I wish to die

While the moon is looking at me from up there

What is left is just my regret

Because I made the mistake to need you so much

Now Im left alone with my memories

And I wish I could just say: look at that moon, look at that sea,

September.....

Well, I can't believe it's almost fall. The leaves are already starting to fall off the trees...that's a lot of leaves at my house...well not yet but when they all fall...we can bury a few people in them...the best part is making huge piles and scaring kids when they come for trick or treating....we haven't done that in a long time....maybe Ammon and Ben would like to do that this year...I know the grand kids would love it!
School started the end of last month and the first term is almost over..the boys come home for lunch everyday they bring Ashlie and Morgan over too...I feel like a short order cook...would you like fries with that?
Doug has been working hard on Solae's little injured Suzuki...it's been in the drive way for over a year waiting on parts...and we are still needing parts! Ammon has been helping Doug work on it. We have to have a going away party for it SOON! Keep us in your prayers!! I mean it!
Doug and Ivie went to visit Solae' and Farrari last weekend and this is the cute picture Eric posted and yes, I stole it from him so I could post it too cos it's so cute and who is that tall goofy person in the back?

So, I guess I've been obsessed with getting some oldies recorded, it's been fun! I love music and when I have it playing then my day goes better. If I'm making someone dinner I always play my Italian music and it seems to taste better....I don't know...it just does....REALLY! I think I have help from my Italian angels!
It's finally starting to cool down enough that the flowers are sitting up taller and you can just see them saying, is it safe to come out? They are doing so well. My rose has decided to bloom again which makes me very happy!! The other picture I posted is of a cactus with prickly pears on it..
I have to say that I could eat these all day everyday for the next year and I would still want more!! True!! I love them...maybe cos I have some fond memories attached to them of eating them in Italy the last time my mom and I went there in 1976!! Wow that was a long time ago! I must only have been one~~~okay I was 17....and .....I wish I looked like I did then! Getting old is for the birds....oh well in my heart I'm still 17....ok maybe not....I think I will be 21....yep that's it.

August Already!!

We started August off with Joshua's first birthday. We went to the park by Shan's house and had a picnic. Josh just started walking and he just took off towards the slides most of the time but he did like the cake...he put his foot in it!! It was pretty hot so the boys discovered that the people living next door to the park were watering their lawn and the water came over the wall so off they went to get wet and of course they took the kids along...We had a nice time.

Lagoon

Our time at Lagoon was really fun. The biggest attraction was getting your picture taken in the old west photo shop....so we did...Doug and I did, so did Shan and her family and Kasha's also. It was fun. Doug and Don went head to head and did some drag racing...they both won races. Then a whole bunch of Phillips' decided to do some racing in the cute little cars....We went on a train ride with Eliot, Joshy, Shan and Mike. They had some pretty good shows going on..one was a singing group that did a bunch of fun show songs and I was impressed at how fast they changed their outfits. But the best show was one with acrabats and mimes....I posted a picture of the lady that could bend her body in any shape or form..she was amazing!! The kids had fun hanging out with their cousins so it was a good bonding time. Ok I think this wraps up July unless I think of something else which it could happen. I did hit my head pretty hard at the park!

Will July ever end? No!

Ammon and Ben were able to go run the river with the young mens quorum in our ward. They had a good time up at Flaming Gorge.
We went to Lagoon with Uncle Don and his family and Kasha and Shan's families also came. It was a lot of fun. We went to the Hogle Zoo also. It was fun but the weather was sooooo HOT! Over 100 degrees and we wilted by the time we were done!! But it was fun!!! :)

My Babies! July 10'

Here they are my little grand children. I love these kids!! Aren't they so cute! Yep it took us a whole bunch of tries before we got them all to look up....I love it when a picture comes together!

Ammon and Ben had an opportunity to go to Wyoming be part of the pioneer trek that our stake went on in July. They had to dress like pioneer and they got to walk down some of the paths that the pioneers walked. It was a humbling experience and something they will always remember. Doug and I went there about 5 years ago, Ari came with us then. It was awesome. You just can't imagine what the pioneers sacraficed to come to the west and settle here and be able to worship God without persecution. We ae so blessed to live in this time, we have so many comforts! This is us on our trek. Anita, Marlene, MaryLee and Me the then Quentin, Doug and some other boys.

The obstacle course Jerry and Drina built was a blast even the adults got into it. It was a good day and lots of fun and we love being a family!

My Random Boys + Fo

Girls camp 6/2010

we had a blast at girls came this year..we made dinner for the whole camp, over 150 people. the lake was so much fun and the girls were awesome. the weather was so nice and we only had one cold night so we made hot chocolate! :)

these didn't post so here they are .

May/June plays, fun and b'days

Here we go...Drina was in a play called Damn Yankees about a baseball team that wants to beat the Yankees, it was so cute! She played a reporter and sang some songs. She did a great job!! We celebrated Doug and Bens b'days and you can see that Ian was a big helper at the b'day party! Our nephew Seth graduated from High School also! When Dennis was here he helped Doug plant potatoes in the garden and we had a special family temple day, that's most of us in front of the Vernal Temple. I included a couple of pictures of Doug, Barbara, Dennis and Don the 4 Phillips' taken when Dennis was here from Georgia and also one of Brittany and her daughter Kailee....they are family also! I think this wraps up our May/June section of the blog. stay tuned for July!! Never a dull moment!!
